The Group explore how public agencies work to develop and deliver business support programmes to help businesses aged 3-5 years develop and become sustainable. The working group examines examples of best practice from across Europe and through presentations and group discussion looks at how the experiences can be practically transferred to benefit other partner regions.

20th July 2013.

 

The theme of this working Group is SME Co-operation. It explores how public agencies and private sector businesses work together to develop and deliver business support programmes to help businesses aged 3-5 years survive beyond their formative stages into strong and healthy businesses. The working group examines examples of best practice from across Europe and through presentations and group discussion looks at how the experiences can be practically transferred to benefit other partner regions.

The inaugural YSMEs thematic seminar was hosted in Waterford City, June 13th & 14th.

 

More than 99% of all European businesses are SMEs, providing 2 of every 3 private sector jobs and contributing more than half of the total value-added created by businesses across the EU. Although there are many supports to SMEs, these supports start to dissipate after 3 years and leave SMEs exposedand more likely to failin the long run. The YSMEs Projectis seeking to address this deficit.

Next Thematic Seminar: Other forms of Funding

  • After the FUNDING WG the assistant will be able to understand the different options for Young SMES financing when it comes to EU FUNDING.

  • The objective of this thematic seminar is to present two kinds of ways of financing, firstly with the traditional EU FUNDING programs where also networking and exchange of experiences is provided and secondly with the group of tools known as revolving funds, specially the JEREMY FUND, which consists in individual loans supported by a private financial entity but with EU FUNDING coming from the Operational programs. These two options will be presented highlighting the main benefits of each one.

INTERREG IVC Feedback Seminar on the Exchange of Experience Study

“Improving policy-making through learning”

The aim of the seminar is primarily to disseminate the results of the study on how projects apprehend and organise successfully their exchange of experience (component 3). Secondly, the seminar aims at exploring ways how to put into practice these findings and thus enable projects to further exploit their potential to improve local or regional policies. It will also serve as a networking platform to meet partners from other INTERREG IVC projects.
